This educational site contains ED #FOAMed resources, news, and information relating to the Quality Framework being implemented in Auckland ED. The aim of the site is to assist in education of medical and nursing staff, record and disseminate data, promote discussion and enthusiasm, store online resources, and aid in building a culture of proactive education and quality improvement that will benefit patients and staff.

Confidential patient data will not be presented on this site. Complaints and disputes are dealt with formally through existing mechanisms and will not be aired on the site. All comments are reviewed by moderators prior to posting. Any opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of ADHB.

Indigenous Health, make it a priority

Having just returned from the face-to-face meeting of the ACEM Committee on Indigenous Health, I think it’s a good time to highlight the brilliant resources out there on this important topic. Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) aims to provide “meaningful, yet practical plans to develop relationships, show respect and increase opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples”. As a result of the RAP, the topic of Indigenous Health will hopefully come to the foreground over the next year, and rightly so.
